Massage is a necessary indulgence.  You know it reduces stress, soothes tight muscles and just plain feels good, but receiving regular body work has many other benefits.
Massage increases blood supply, oxygen, and nutrition to muscle tissue, joints, and the vital organs, and improves the circulation of lymph throughout the body. Massage helps muscles to recover more quickly from exertion and fatigue. Massage also aids in the relief of muscle spasms and cramping and helps in the prevention of muscular atrophy.  Massage promotes a greater range of motion in joints and keeps ligaments and tendons flexible.
